To enhance client engagement and strengthen relationships, Company A (unnamed due to confidentiality) required a digital solution that would simultaneously up-skill bar staff and ensure quality standards in the serving of their alcohol products. The objective was to empower their clients’ bar staff through practical and theoretical training, ultimately helping elevate the customer experience and reinforce brand excellence at the point of service.
In the first year of development, we launched a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) version of the app, designed to deliver impactful, accessible training in an engaging format.
Key features include:
(1) A bite-sized learning map that guides users through segmented modules, covering both alcohol theory and practical application.
(2) A daily activity feature to keep users consistently engaged which includes learning a fun fact about Company A’s alcohol products or a personal reflections on their latest shift. Each completed task contributes to a streak system, designed to encourage daily habit-building.
(3) A challenge & rewards system where users are incentivised through monthly in-app challenges which require them to: Complete a specific number of tasks, earn a targeted number of points or maintain a streak over a certain duration. Successful completion is rewarded with vouchers motivating ongoing participation and learning.
(4) A nationwide leaderboard & seasonal rewards to introduce a layer of gamification and healthy competition. Users earn points through daily tasks and lesson completions, with their scores ranked in a live leaderboard during specific campaign periods. The top three scorers win exclusive prizes, offering Company A a way to recognise and reward high-performing clients and bar staff.
